quote art

I've really been itching to make some wall art for our house lately. It might be because of of these little dinosaur pictures or this flower picture... but whatever the reason, I got crafty and ended up with this little guy:

It's only a 6x6 wood frame [which is good - because it's just the right amount of "cheesiness" for our home]. The quote is from a small exert of our wedding ceremony where we planted a tree [which is now out front of our house]. We love it.

Anyway, back to the picture.

little fabric flower

I can't take ANY credit for this flower whatsoever....[other than the fact that I made this one].... because I used a pattern that I found here. I couldn't get over how cute it was so I decided to make some of my own.    I followed the pattern pretty much step by step, but I thought my step-by-step was worth sharing. So without further ado... Here goes!

cupcake fun

Ever since I got these cute cupcake books for Christmas a few years ago I've been OBSESSED with adorably designed cupcakes.

The only problem is...I haven't even attempted to ever make any. What's my problem? For my sister in laws baby shower, I offered to make cupcakes and told myself I was going to try some sort of design (no matter how small and simple).

So here's what I did:
I made 2 different cupcakes
I made 2 different icings
Decorated them (semi-adorably but not book worthy)
Made doily cupcake wrappers for them
Then...I ate one of each (they were good!)

I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.
Everyone said they were delicious and pretty!

Here is the cupcake breakdown and a little step by step on how I made the doily wrappers:

rope bowl

This project was one of those "I've got to make this right now" type of things. I saw it online...got really excited...bought the supplies...and made a bunch of them. These rope bowls are fun, easy (I did it while watching tv) and they make great gifts!
