snowman "wreath"

We don't have a lot of Christmas decorations...so this year I've been working on adding a few to our collection. I whipped up this little snowman wreath the other day and love how he looks in our house. I originally thought I'd hang him on the door but I liked him inside so much more.

the weekly creative #13

Welcome to week #13 of The Weekly Creative!

This has been a very busy week of work, crafting, sewing, wrapping, packing and trying to get ready for Christmas. We leave Sunday morning for a week with my family in Washington state. I can't wait to get on the plane and relax :) I've been meaning to share our Christmas tree but the time has been fling by and I'm just now getting around to it.

If you're unaware of our tradition, we name out Christmas trees. So far we've had Albert & Belinda. This year...I'd like to introduce you to...

Ceelo!
(I suggested every "C" name I could think of...and somehow, we ended up with Ceelo "Green")

Next week, maybe I'll finally have a picture of it decorated!

Now, onto the features. Here is what I was loving this past week (make sure you grab a featured button from the sidebar under the tab "grab a button"):

[1] These glittered pine cones by Turtles and Tails are the perfect addition to any holiday mantle.
[2] I wish I would have found these felt gift bags by Poor and Gluten Free a few weeks ago. I would have loved to give all of my gifts in homemade gift bags.
[3] These adorable peppermint candy coasters by Once Upon a Sewing Machine are so festive & fun.

...& if you missed them, here's what I shared this past week:

Now...onto this weeks party :)

Link up as many projects, recipes, etc. as you'd like. No giveaways or etsy shops please.

snowmen gift tags

I've been on a snowman kick lately. I started with these fingerprint gift tags and have now moved onto other little popsicle stick snowmen gift tags. They were fun and EASY to make...which seems to be my theme this year for Christmas.

I started by painting some popsicle sticks white. When they were dry, I painted on eyes, a mouth and some little buttons. I then added a felt hat and a little felt carrot nose.

To make the scarf, I used a small amount of colored paper and cut out small scarf-like shapes. Using an exacto knife, I cut a slit in the scarf so I could slide it right onto the popsicle stick.

I added names and attached them to all of my packages. I LOVE gift tags!

fingerprint gift tags

I love kraft paper. I have always wrapped gifts in it because you can decorate it however you choose (so many options)! When I saw these Kraft paper gift tags I knew I wanted to make some cute little tags for the holidays for any colorful gift bags I may end up using.

With being busy, I wanted to come up with a cute tag that I could whip up pretty quickly. I have seen some cute snowman fingerprint ornaments around on the web and thought they would make darling gift tags as well.
