diy canvas cross-stitch

Now that Halloween is over, my brain automatically goes to Christmas. We're not that far away from December 25th! Christmas is always a time that I make many different things, so I started with a little decoration. I made this spider for Halloween (it was a complete copy cat project - you can get the template here) and I loved it so much that I wanted to make my own Christmas version (you can download the Reindeer Template here and follow along. FYI - you'll have to scale it to fit your canvas size).

Welcome to week 7 of The Weekly Creative! 
I'm excited to say goodbye to Halloween and HELLO to Thanksgiving & Christmas. It is so crazy that we are now into November with less than 2 months until Christmas! I don't know where the year went. I hope all who were affected by Hurricane Sandy are safe and well. We lucked out and just had high winds and lots of rain (but no damage). Your projects from last week kept me occupied during the gloomy weather. I was loving so many of them but here are a few of favorites (don't forget to grab a featured button from the sidebar):

[1] These T-shirt Christmas Ornaments by The Enchanting Rose are absolutely adorable. I especially love the little snowman one.

[2] I love these crochet earrings by Color Transformed Family. There are so many pretty designs and colors!  [3] This Half-square Triangles Tutorial by Lily Quilt made me want to raid my fabric stash a whip up an adorable bird pillow for myself.

ribbon bookmark

I'm attempting to learn how to crochet. Hmm. It's not coming as naturally to me as knitting did when I was 8. My mom gave me The Happy Hooker book (after she bought it and gave up on the idea of learning how to crochet from a book). Instead of reading it, I decided to make a bookmark for it (for...you know, whenever I actually get around to reading it).

football onesie

My nephew plays football, so I thought it would be cute to make my niece a little football onesie (my sister in law made the skirt & headband...but you can find a similar tutorial here). I haven't gotten to see her in it yet, but my father-in-law sent me these cute pictures.
